5 Exercises to Improve eyesight fast – You should perform daily

Eyes are the greatest gift from God which helps us to see. Eye problem is one the common problem of the people in the world. Many people complain about eyesight and now a day’s children are also suffering from this problem. There are many causes related to eyesight loss. Watching TV, playing games on smartphones or working for long hours on computer deteriorates eyesight. Sitting very near to the TV affects the eyesight most.

Eating unhealthy and unbalanced diet also causes eyesight loss. Deficiency of Vitamin A causes loss of eyesight. The dust particles on entering get stored in our eyes causing night blindness and retinal detachment. Starting on one object for too long will cause stress in the muscles of our eyes thereby causing headache and blurry vision. Avoid rubbing your eyes as it can cause scratches in the retina. Use UV glass protection in the computer screen, this will decrease the harmful rays coming from your screen.

Take some time away from TV and computers to relax your eyes. Always wash your eyes plentiful of water to clean the dust particles from your eyes. If you are going out in sunlight, wear good quality sunglasses. Avoid eating junk food. You can increase your eyesight by doing some healthy exercises. If you are facing some problems in your vision, you should consult your doctor and get better treatment or else your vision will get harsher and cause a headache.

1. Blinking:

It is a simple way to keep your eyes fresh and making it able to focus longer. While using computers or watching TV, people tend to blink less, especially when they are focused on something. This causes strain in your eyes. Blinking your eyes is a simple exercise. Try blinking for the next two minutes in every 3 – 4 seconds. After blinking for two minutes, feel as if your eyes are relaxing. If you do not feel relaxed, try not to blink for 30 seconds at a time for two minutes. Now you will really feel different and relaxed.

Whenever you blink your eyes, they go into a brief period of darkness which makes your eyes fresh and reduce strain.

2. Palming:

Palming relieves the stress in your eyes and relaxes them. This is done while working a long time in front of computers or watching TV. These are the instructions for palming.

  1. Take a few deep breathes in the beginning.
  2. Make yourself comfortable whilst leaning backward with your elbows resting on your knees and close your eyes.
  3. Rub your palms together to produce some brisk heat and place them on your eyes and relax for a while. Avoid the light from entering. Exercise whenever during the day, especially while working on the computer.

Trying this exercise for two to three minutes will give rest to your mind and eyes. After this exercise, you will work with double energy.

3. Figure of eight

This exercise increases the flexibility of the muscles of eyes and is very simple.

Just imagine a giant figure of eight at about 10 feet in front of you. Now slowly trace the figure of 8 with your eyes. Do it one way for a few minutes and then do it the other way for a few minutes. You will really feel relaxed with this.

4. Near and far focusing

This exercise is also known as the 20/20/20 method and can be done almost anywhere and has very good effects on your eyes. For every twenty minutes focus on an object that is at least twenty feet away for twenty seconds. Or put your thumb for 5 inches away from your face and focus on it, after 5 seconds focus on something behind it. Do this about 10 times and whenever you have time.

5. Zooming

This exercise is also quick and easy to practice. Here are the steps to do this exercise.

  1. Sit in a comfortable position and stretch out your arm with your thumb in the hitchhike position
  2. Focus on your thumb with your arm outstretched.
  3. Now, focusing all the time bring your thumb closer to you, until your thumb is about 3 inches in front of your face.
  4. Now move your thumb away again until your arm is fully outstretched.
  5. Do this for a few minutes at a time throughout the day.

These exercises will surely help you to reduce strain in your eyes and at the same time will help you to increase your eyesight. Rinse your eyes with plenty of water after working for long hours in front of computers. Eat a diet rich in Vitamin A, C and Omega 3 fatty acids. Carrots, blueberries, apricots, and foods rich in beta-carotene are good for eyes. Amino acids, especially Taurine is essential for eyes as they protect our eyes from free radical that cause damage from aging and keep eye tissue healthy and prevent eye deterioration. Keep the brightness of the TV and computer adjusted so that it won’t harm your eyes. Take sufficient sleep as it improves eyesight and relaxes our eyes completely. It is also very important for our body to function properly. Take little breaks, if you have to focus on a task for long periods of time. Make an effort to use natural light by keeping yourself away from gadgets.
